The workshop is entitled “Challenges and Controversies in Decolonizing Academic Writing Research: Epistemologies, Methodologies, Strategies.”

The workshop will be held on 29 November 2026, from 1-4pm. A light lunch will be provided beforehand, with time for informal networking and discussion afterward. The workshop cost is included in the conference registration fees (i.e., there is no additional cost for those already registered for WRAB2026).

The workshop itself will feature theoretical discussions, data analyses, and collaborative feedback on participants’ research projects on decolonizing academic writing. Prof. Canagarajah will provide readings to participants beforehand to generate discussion.

This workshop is limited to 30 participants, with priority given to Higher Degree by Research students and Early Career Researchers. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Jiva Lamsal (University of Sydney).
