Local Organising Team

Dr Benjamin Miller

Dr Miller is a Senior Lecturer in English and Writing at the University of Sydney. His research examines Indigenous resistance to and within colonial literary archives.

Dr Miller is the Local Organising Team Lead.

A/Prof Susan Thomas

A/Prof Thomas founded the Writing Hub and Writing Studies program at the University of Sydney and is a former President of the American Council of Writing Program Administrators.

A/Prof Thomas led the pitch for an Australasian location for WRAB2026 and is participating on the Local Organising Team.

Dr Beck Wise

Dr Wise teaches and researches at the University of Queensland in professional, technical and academic writing, with specialisations in the rhetoric of science, visual communication, writing in digital environments, and gender studies.

Dr Wise’s expertise in GenAI and writing and the role of writing studies in Australasian Higher Education is guiding the Local Organising Team’s efforts to ensure WRAB2026 both showcases and supports research in the region.

Cana Nongkhlaw

Cana Nongkhlaw is a PhD candidate in English and Writing at the University of Sydney. Her research investigates Indigenous Khasi approaches to education and writing.

Cana is a research assistant supporting the Local Organising Team.
